If you’re hungry there’s an on-site restaurant and takeaway hotspot, Boss' Pizza and Chicken. The food here is fun Mid-West style and I highly recommend the chicken Cordon Bleu pizza.

My favourite room is the very well-priced Studio Suite, which has a full kitchen. If you don’t fancy cooking for yourself in the morning, the hotel also offers a free daily breakfast.

I loved the hotel’s social hour – which runs on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 5:30 pm to 7 pm – where they serve free appetizers and drinks. The hotel is also very focused on being accessible, with an array of suites set up to cater to all needs.

With zero fuss and a simple contemporary design, the La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Grand Forks is inexpensive and well-located. It’s less than 10 km from the airports, right off the I-29 highway and a very short walk to the Alerus Center.

All the rooms have little fridges, a microwave and a desk in case you need to work. The hotel takes accessibility seriously, and I love the fact they’re also pet-friendly and have an indoor pool.
