This beautiful resort takes my number one spot for the best hotels in Ucluelet. The views alone could make even an average hotel amazing, but luckily the resort itself is on par with the location. Ucluelet is known for its rocky coastlines and the Black Rock Resort is situated right on the edge of the coast, meaning you can watch the waves crashing against the cliffs from the comfort of your room.

The luxurious granite and glass building is nothing short of spectacular and the spacious guestrooms all feature floor-to-ceiling windows that make me feel like I’m right in the middle of the scenery while still cuddled up in my snug hotel bed.

To elevate your stay, book a spa treatment at the Drift Spa. The combination of reconnecting with nature and relaxing with a spa facial or massage is truly amazing.

Pluvio is conveniently located in central Ucluelet and has a unique vibe that I love. It’s definitely one of the best boutique hotels in Ucluelet due to its comfy yet luxurious guestrooms and amazing service. The rooms all feature local artworks and products that make it a special place to soak in the spirit of Ucluelet.

My favourite part is the extraordinary on-site restaurant. The owners are both accomplished chefs and hospitality professionals that bring spectacular service and delicious dishes inspired by Canada’s West Coast to the table. The four-course tasting menu is a standout experience, perfect for a special occasion or when you just want to treat yourself.

The combination of plush rooms, wonderful service, and a gourmet restaurant easily make this one of the best hotels in Ucluelet.

There’s something about a cosy cabin that just screams British Columbia to me and the Cabins at Terrace Beach are the quintessential cosy cabins. With wooden furnishings, crackling fireplaces, well-equipped kitchens, and large windows overlooking the ocean, this is one of the best hotels in Ucluelet for getting back to nature.

The cabins are a five-minute drive outside of the main area, yet here you get to be right on the beach and feel like you’ve escaped the city completely.

I also love the fact that each cabin has its own private entrance, which makes a stay here feel private and allows for even more quality time spent with loved ones and nature.

The Bayshore Waterfront Inn is the place to come for superb hospitality. I’ll never forget arriving here exhausted after a long travel day and being greeted by genuinely caring staff members who just wanted to make my stay comfortable.

It has a fantastic location too, right on the harbour. Waking up to fishing boats bobbing on the horizon and the sound of seabirds will truly connect you to the heart of Ucluelet. Meanwhile, the guestrooms are comfy, clean and thoughtfully designed with coastal-themed decor.

If you’re planning a fishing or float plane tour while in town, you’re right on the harbour here, making for easy access to your departure area.

The beautiful Storm Cove Suites are located just outside of Ucluelet, but close enough that you can walk into town for dining or shopping. Aside from the prime location, what makes this one of the best hotels in Ucluelet is the modern guestrooms with kitchens and large balconies overlooking the ocean.

You’ll feel surrounded by the sights and sounds of nature – exactly how it should be when you visit Vancouver Island. I could easily spend every morning of my vacation sitting on the balcony and watching the waves hit the rocky shore. But it's well worth venturing outside, especially as these suites offer private beach access to Brown’s Beach.

There you can easily go for a morning stroll or watch the sunset, making it a lovely space to enjoy Ucluelet’s natural beauty, away from the crowds.

If you’re looking for a smaller accommodation where you’ll feel right at home, then Sounds of the Sea is a great option. The cosy suites are located in a residential area, about a five-minute walk to Terrace Beach. Staying here makes it feel like you have your own little nature sanctuary while still being close to the amenities of town.

This is one of the best hotels in Ucluelet for the homey comforts that the guestrooms and the owners provide. Decorated with nature-themed paintings and decor, the rooms offer a seriously serene place to rest after exploring Ucluelet’s famous Wild Pacific Trail or the many other popular sites in the area.

Despite being on the smaller side the hotel also boasts plenty of handy amenities, including free private parking, free Wi-Fi and access to a shared patio.

The Pacific Sands Beach Resort is one of my favourite hotels on Vancouver Island. It’s set near Tofino, about a 30-minute drive from Ucluelet, but it’s one of the best hotels in Ucluelet and the surrounding area if you’re willing to venture a bit farther.

Tofino is a world-famous surfing destination, and this hotel is located right on Cox Bay, one of the most popular surfing spots. I’m not a surfer, but I gave it a try during my stay here and it was an adventure I’ll never forget.

For those who prefer relaxing on land, the resort offers private suites and beach houses, most with sweeping views of the ocean out of the floor-to-ceiling windows. There are also bicycle rentals, board games, two restaurants, Nordic saunas, and massages at the resort's on-site spa.

You can easily explore the cute little town of Tofino from Duffin Cove Resort, as well as taking day trips to Ucluelet. Although it’s a 40-minute drive to Ucluelet, this is a great option for those who want to stay near the townsite of Tofino and have the option of exploring both towns.

This is one of the best hotels in Ucluelet and the surrounding area for gorgeous ocean views. I also love the fact that it’s located less than a five-minute walk from many of the restaurants in Tofino.

If you’re planning on exploring Tofino, I highly recommend checking out Tacofino. It’s almost a rite of passage to hit up this little food truck during your stay on the island. There’ll probably be a long line, but it moves quickly and trust me when I say it’s very much worth it.

One of the most unique hotels in Ucluelet and the surrounding area, the Hotel Zed is a 70s-style property packed full of retro style. The eclectic throwback design might just be my favourite part of this hotel – it feels like you’ve been transported back in time to a luxurious property in the groovy 70s. From the bold patterns to the fun furnishings, it all comes together to create an unforgettable vibe.

The hotel is located just outside of Tofino, about a 30-minute drive from Ucluelet, so it's another great option for exploring both areas. Plus, the hotel alone is an experience in itself. You’ll find unique artworks all over the property that are fun to check out. There’s also a coffee shop, sauna, and hot tub on site.

There are so many things that I love about Best Western Plus Tin Wis Resort. It's located on Mackenzie Beach and the views are incredible. The sound of the waves crashing on the shore and walks along the beach make it the perfect nature retreat, even though it’s a half hour drive from Ucluelet.

This hotel is also a great option if you plan to bring your dog along with you. When I can, I love being able to travel with my pups, especially on a trip where they can tag along on walks and hikes. This hotel has designated dog-friendly rooms, making it a great option for dog owners like me.
